BS Tech Electrical Services began in 1998 when Dean Banks‑Smith started out as a single contractor. Today, we’re proud to operate as a team of 15 skilled and diverse electricians, apprentices, and business support staff.

Every person brings something unique to the team — in both skill and personality — and that’s a culture we’re genuinely proud to foster as an employer.

Our senior electricians are trained to train. From the moment an apprentice signs up, right through their four‑year journey with TasTAFE, they’re supported, mentored, and guided to become confident, capable tradespeople.

With regular project and maintenance works across multiple commercial buildings in the Hobart Region, our team also delivers a wide range of electrical services including new residential builds, re‑wiring, switchboard upgrades, refurbishments and fitouts.

Each electrician brings a different background and level of experience, contributing industry knowledge that allows us to problem‑solve even the most complex jobs with confidence and efficiency.

From lighting up a fully landscaped garden to re‑wiring older homes, upgrading switchboards, and supporting new project builds, it’s fair to say that at BS Tech, we genuinely love what we do. We enjoy working closely with our customers to create practical, stylish, and reliable solutions for both commercial and residential projects.

While we cover a wide range of electrical work, we do have a soft spot for lighting. It’s the part of electrical work you can see — the part that transforms a space, elevates style, improves energy efficiency, and lets us get creative.
